Frequently Asked Questions

Hiring a lawyer to represent you can be a daunting process. LaTawn will set your mind at ease by answering any questions you may have during your consultation. Below are some questions that you may have about beginning the process.

I personally handle every aspect of your case.  You will never be passed off to anyone else.  I understand that when you hire me to represent you, your future, livelihood and your freedom is at stake.  I will always treat you as an individual and use my experience to give you the best defense possible.

I do not write attorney bonds for clients.  This American Bar Association has issued guidance that an attorney posting a bond can create a conflict of interest.  By working through a bonding company to post your bond and secure your release, we can both be assured that my focus is on getting you the best possible result as your lawyer.

No lawyer can guarantee a specific result and many factors that go into planning the defense of any case.  There is no one size fits all approach to criminal defense. I understand that the stress of navigating the criminal process can be financially and emotionally draining but I aim to make the process as simple as possible.  I will explain each step to you and walk you through the consequences to you and your future.  I will work tirelessly to advocate on your behalf to achieve the best possible outcome in your case.

My practice specializes solely in criminal defense.  My entire twenty year career has been dedicated to practicing criminal law.  I focus all of my time, energy and resources into representing individuals charged with crimes in federal court, Midland County and Ector County.  I do that to provide you with the best possible defense.  In order to provide that specialized experience, I do not provide family, appellate or civil representation.

When working with LaTawn, you always know your case matters.
